Q: Will this desktop computer overheat or lag during long simulation sessions?

A: No. The SurfThing SG3-5802 utilizes a spacious desktop chassis equipped with an industrial-grade 280mm AIO Liquid Cooler. Unlike laptops or basic retail PCs that suffer from thermal throttling and slow down under heavy loads, this liquid-cooled configuration maintains ice-cold component temperatures and consistent frame rates over extended, multi-hour tracking sessions.

Q: Can it run demanding golf software like GSPro, FSX Play, and E6 Connect?

A: Yes. The high-end Intel Core Ultra 7 265F processor combined with the flagship NVIDIA RTX 5080 graphics card provides immense processing power to handle complex physics engines and high-density turf rendering. Packed with 16GB of next-gen GDDR7 VRAM, it runs GSPro, E6 Connect, FSX Play, and Trackman smoothly in full, native 4K resolution at maximum ultra settings.

Q: How do the computer, launch monitor, and projector integrate?

A: The desktop functions as the central brain of your simulator bay. Your launch monitor tracks club and ball metrics and sends that data to the PC. The PC processes the flight and spin physics in milliseconds and instantly outputs fluid 3D graphics onto your simulator screen.

Q: How do I connect my projector to this desktop?

A: You plug the projector's video cable (HDMI or DisplayPort) directly into the ports on the rear-mounted NVIDIA RTX 5080 dedicated graphics card. Connecting directly to the GPU ensures an uncompromised video signal with zero latency or conversion loss.

Q: Why does this PC feature two Ethernet (LAN) ports on the back?

A: The system comes equipped with a built-in 2.5G LAN port plus an additional 1G Ethernet LAN expansion card. This configuration is intentional for golf simulators: it allows you to use one port to hardwire your computer to the internet for online play and software updates, while using the second dedicated port to connect straight to an Ethernet-based overhead launch monitor (such as Foresight Falcon, Uneekor, GolfJoy Overhead GR3, Nvisage N1, or Trackman) without needing an external network switch.

Q: Will my launch monitor experience data or signal lag?

A: Absolutely not. The SurfThing SG3-5802 features ultra-fast data pipelines engineered specifically to eliminate any delay between your physical club impact and the virtual ball flight. Whether your tracking system is floor-based or ceiling-mounted, your data transfers instantly:

  • Ceiling-Mounted Overhead Systems: Premium overhead tracking systems -including the Foresight Falcon, Uneekor (EYE XO / EYE XO2), GolfJoy GR3, and nVisage N1 - plug directly into the computer's secondary, hardwired Gigabit LAN port. This direct, isolated network path ensures real-time shot processing with zero data bottlenecks.
  • Floor-Based & Portable Units: Devices like Foresight Sports (GCQuad / GC3), Bushnell Launch Pro, and Full Swing KIT connect via high-speed USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports. The computer’s dedicated "Ultra USB Power" ports provide a continuous, completely stable voltage stream to prevent data stutter or sudden device disconnects mid-session.

Q: Can I connect high-speed swing analysis cameras simultaneously?

A: Yes. The SurfThing SG3-5802 features 15 total USB ports distributed across the front and rear of the chassis (including a USB Type-C port with Thunderbolt™ 4 and multiple USB 3.2 ports). You can connect a projector, launch monitor, touchscreen, and multiple high-speed swing cameras at the same time without requiring an external USB hub that could bottleneck data transmission.

Q: What is the purpose of the "Ultra USB Power" ports on the rear I/O?

A: Two of the rear USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports are specifically engineered to provide stable, continuous voltage. This prevents random device disconnects or signal drops when running high-draw simulator peripherals, such as bus-powered tracking hardware or high-frame-rate cameras.

Q: Does this PC support running a touchscreen monitor and a projector at the same time?

A: Yes. The NVIDIA RTX 5080 graphics card features multiple video outputs (HDMI and DisplayPort). This allows you to output the main simulation play screen to your projector while concurrently running a local touchscreen or secondary monitor for data display and system control.

Q: Apart from the computer, what data cables do I need to supply?

A: You only need two standard cables:

  • An HDMI or DisplayPort cable long enough to connect the computer's graphics card to your projector.
  • The data interface cable (USB or Ethernet) that came packaged with your specific launch monitor.

Q: I am unfamiliar with computer hardware and software installation. How difficult is the setup?

A: We make the entire process effortless. We only require you to let us know which launch monitor of your preference you are using and your chosen software package. From there, our engineering team takes care of the entire pre-configuration of the computer to ensure a completely smooth experience right out of the box - so you can focus on your swing.
