Building a studio is about more than just a net and a ball. Here is the professional checklist for a true "Turnkey" experience:
- The Foundation: Golf Enclosure Bay
Every setup needs a "kill zone" for the ball. We offer everything from the Net Return (for portability) to our signature Commercial-Grade Sim Bays. Our bays are designed with Eclipse Technology to eliminate light leakage and maximize safety.
- The Brains: Launch Monitor & Software
This is the tech that tracks your ball speed, launch angle, and spin. Whether it's the Nvisage N1, Foresight Falcon, or GolfJoy GR, these units run advanced software like GSPro or E6 Connect to simulate real-world courses in 4K.
- The Visuals: "Math-Tested" Projectors
We don't just sell projectors; we sell solutions. The bundles on our website are math-tested to work perfectly with the specific dimensions of our enclosures. If you want to change a projector or bay size, let us know—we’ll recalculate the "throw distance" for you to ensure zero shadows.
- The Essential "Pro-Link" Accessories:
Structure: Precision-cut poles and gaming-grade HDMI cables.Mounting: Specialized ceiling mounts for the N1 or Falcon and Sky Rail projector mounts.Screen Tension: For bays wider than 12 ft, we include Struts (Screen Stretchers) to eliminate sag and provide a cinematic, flat surface.Safety & Finish: Pro-Turf™ hitting mats and optional (but highly recommended) Side/Top Safety Nets to protect your room from hosel-rockets and stray shots.
Absolutely. Our bundles provide every essential you need to refine your swing and get comfortable with the game in a private, low-pressure setting.
Every system is designed to be user-friendly and straightforward to assemble, you can have your Turnkey Pro Studio fully operational in under two hours.
The short answer: It depends on your swing, your enclosure, and your tech.
1. The general recommended spot (9.5 ft – 10.5 ft.)
For most of our high-end enclosures, we recommend a ceiling height between 9.5 ft and 10.5 ft. This provides the most immersive visual experience and ensures you have enough vertical clearance for a full driver swing without hitting the top of the bay.
2. Overhead Launch Monitor Requirements
If you are installing an overhead unit, height is critical for accuracy.
- Nvisage N1 & Foresight Falcon: We strongly recommend a 9 ft – 10 ft ceiling height.
- GolfJoy GR (Overhead 2, 3 Pro): Per the technical manual, these units require a supported ceiling range of 9.02 ft to 10.17 ft (275 cm to 310 cm) to maintain a fixed distance to the tee.
- Important Caveat: Overhead monitors require "breathing room" to capture ball data properly. We generally recommend a 10–12 ft depth from the screen to ensure the monitor is installed far enough forward to track the flight path accurately.
3. Small Space Solutions (The 8 ft Minimum)
Can you install a simulator in an 8 ft room? Yes. At Turnkey Pro Studios, we specialize in "shrinked space" solutions.
- The Constraint: You cannot use an overhead launch monitor at this height; you must use a portable/floor-based unit.
- The Safety Check: At 8 ft or less, you will be restricted on the clubs you can safely use (drivers are usually out of the question).
- The Solution: We offer custom-sized enclosures and hitting mats to fit these tight dimensions. Contact us for a custom build if you're working with limited height!
The key differences among golf simulator launch monitors primarily stem from their levels of accuracy, features, and technology integration. Higher-priced models typically offer more advanced functionalities and provide more precise measurements than their lower-priced counterparts. Choosing the right system depends on your space, your goals, and your environment.
1. Camera-Based (Photometric) Systems
How it Works: These systems use high-speed cameras to take thousands of images per second of the ball at the moment of impact. The software then analyzes these images to calculate speed, launch angle, and spin.
- The Benefits: Because they only need to see the first few inches of ball flight, they are incredibly accurate in small indoor spaces. They offer near-instantaneous data feedback.
- Why People Use It: It provides the most reliable spin data indoors and doesn't require a massive "buffer" zone behind or in front of the golfer.
- Ideal Profile: Beginners to Professionals. Perfect for residential garages or dedicated indoor studios where space is at a premium.
2. Radar-Based (Doppler) Systems
How it Works: These units emit microwave signals that "follow" the ball throughout its entire flight, tracking the actual movement from impact to landing.
- The Benefits: They excel outdoors where they can track the full trajectory of the ball. They are often more portable and easier to move from the range to the house.
- Why People Use It: For those who practice outside frequently or have extremely deep indoor rooms (usually 20+ feet of depth) to allow the radar to see enough ball flight.
- Ideal Profile: Serious Amateurs. Best for those who want a hybrid solution for the driving range and a home setup with significant depth.
3. Ceiling-Mounted (Fixed Overhead) Systems
How it Works: Typically a high-end camera-based array, these are permanently fixed to the ceiling above the hitting area.
- The Benefits: The unit is completely out of the "danger zone" of swinging clubs and stray balls. It offers a massive hitting area and allows for seamless switching between left- and right-handed golfers without moving any hardware.
- Why People Use It: It provides a professional, "hidden" look and the most robust data for high-speed play. It is the ultimate "set it and forget it" solution.
- Ideal Profile: Professionals & Commercial Venues. The gold standard for golf bars, coaching centers, and luxury home installations.
