1. Getting Started: Setup & Power
- Ideal Placement: Place the GCQuad upright on a level surface approximately 22" away from the hitting area.
- Surface Leveling: If using a hitting mat, ensure the device is raised to the exact same level as the hitting surface. Use the integrated kickstand for extra stability on uneven ground.
- Powering On: Press and release the power button. The device takes approximately 30 seconds to boot, and the LED indicator will blink green when it is ready to track.
- Powering Off: Press the power button again; the screen and LED will turn off once the shutdown sequence is complete.
2. Hitting Zones & Tracking Modes
The GCQuad features two primary tracking modes that change the size of the "Hitting Zone" (the area where the ball must be placed):
Optimizing Your Hitting Experience
To maximize the performance of your GCQuad, it is essential to understand how the selected tracking mode influences your setup. When Club Tracking is enabled, the system captures a comprehensive data set for both the ball and the clubhead, requiring a more precise ball placement within a 14" \times 14" hitting zone, indicated by a solid green LED. If you prefer to focus solely on ball flight data, turning Club Tracking off expands the hitting zone to 18" \times 14" and switches the visual indicator to blue, allowing for more flexibility in ball placement while maintaining industry-leading accuracy
- Handedness: Switch between right and left-handed tracking using the -L and R- keys on the device.
- Status Indicators:Blinking LED (Slow): No ball detected.Blinking LED (Rapid): Ball is out of the hitting zone or too many balls are detected.Solid LED: The device is Ready for the shot.
3. Capturing Professional Club Data
To capture detailed club analytics, you must apply reflective markers (included) to the clubface.
- 1 Marker: Captures Clubhead Speed, Smash Factor, Attack Angle, and Swing Path.
- 4 Markers: Adds Face Angle, Loft, and Lie analysis.
- Application: Clean the clubface first. Place the marker adhesive-side down, apply firm pressure, and pull the tab away.
4. Critical Battery Care
The longevity of your GCQuad battery depends on a strict maintenance routine.
- Monthly Cycle: The battery must be fully discharged and recharged at least once a month.
- Storage Warning: This routine applis even to batteries in storage or units that run continuously on AC power.
- Consequences: Failure to follow this routine can significantly compromise the battery's ability to hold a charge and may require a replacement at the owner's expense.
5. Maintenance & Safety
- Storage: Always power off the device and remove the battery before storing. Store in a cool, dry environment, ideally in its original foam-lined packaging.
- Cleaning: Keep the four tracking cameras free of dust and moisture.
- Impacts: While designed to withstand ball impacts, discontinue use immediately if the enclosure or LCD display is cracked or damaged.
- Hardware: Use only the provided USB Type-C and Power Cables; using third-party cables can damage the device.
